About rebates
Rebates are a form of financial assistance delivered through Service NSW. They are paid to customers as reimbursements so customers are allowed to claim back costs only after they have made a purchase.
Rebates are typically smaller in monetary value than grants and bigger in monetary value than vouchers.

When to use
Deliver rebates through Service NSW to:
- distribute smaller amounts of money to customers
- support existing customer behaviours and needs such as utilities and medical
- ensure the specific goods or services have been paid for before reimbursing the customer.
How it works
- Customers apply for the rebate through their MyServiceNSW Account.
- Their application is assessed against pre-defined eligibility criteria that’s either automated or conducted by a Service NSW Assessor.
- Customers receive updates on the status of their application.
- Payments are made to successful applicants.
