About vouchers
Vouchers are a form of financial assistance delivered through Service NSW. They are designed to support businesses and help people save money.
Vouchers are distributed to individuals who can redeem them at registered businesses. These businesses are then reimbursed for the value of the vouchers spent.
You can deliver a voucher program through Service NSW to:
- make a specific good or service more affordable for an eligible group of people
- create wellbeing and social outcomes for targeted groups (for example, participation in sport)
- boost or kick start the economy for a specific industry or industries.
Vouchers are typically smaller in monetary value than grants and based on entitlement, not merit.

When to use
Deliver vouchers through Service NSW to:
- make goods or services more affordable for a group of people
- shift the spending behaviours of a group of people or population
- create wellbeing and social outcomes for targeted groups (for example, participation in sport)
- boost the economy for a specific industry or industries.
How it works
- Businesses can register via the Service NSW Business Bureau app. Once approved, they’ll be set up to redeem vouchers at their point of sale.
- Eligible individuals can register and receive their voucher/s through the Service NSW website, app or at a Service Centre.
- Once equipped with their voucher, holders can redeem it at a registered business who then discounts the good or service.
- Details of the vouchers redeemed are automatically sent to Service NSW by the business, periodically.
- Service NSW then distributes funds back to the business to the value of the vouchers redeemed.
