What you need

For registration costs, you'll need:

• body type
• make and model (for new vehicles)
• registration usage
• tare weight
• market value/purchase price (whichever is greater).

For renewal and transfer costs, you'll need:

• plate number
• VIN/chassis
• date of acquisition
• registration usage
• body type
• market value/purchase price (whichever is greater).

How to check

1. Select the 'Check online' button.
2. Follow the prompts to calculate costs.

• Stamp duty may be waived if you submit evidence that you were the previous registered owner.
• Additional fees may apply if the vehicle has special number plates.
