Introduction
The Hull Identification Number (HIN) is the unique identifier for a boat. When a vessel is registered, it requires a HIN certificate, which lists important vessel details.
If details on the original (blue certificate) or copy (pink certificate) of the HIN certificate need to be amended, you must obtain a 'Modification Certificate' from a Boatcode Agent.
The Boatcode Agent will inspect the vessel and issue you the Modification Certificate. In addition, you will need to complete the Application for HIN (Boatcode) form that the agent will give you.
What you need
In order to have a Boatcode inspection, you must present the vessel to an accredited Boatcode Agency and provide:
- your proof of identity
- HIN (Boatcode) certificate
- vessel registration documents
- proof of ownership documentation
- the required fee.
How to change
- Gather the required documentation and completed forms from the Boatcode Agent.
- Visit a service centre and provide the information in person, or mail to:
