Introduction
If you hold a current commercial agent licence issued in another eligible Australian state or territory, you can apply for the equivalent in NSW under mutual recognition.
Commercial agents who have face-to-face contact with customers are known as field agents and must hold a licence to:
- collect debts
- repossess goods
- serve legal documents on behalf of a client.
Note: If you're only wanting to work in NSW on a temporary basis and your commercial agent licence is from another state or territory (excluding Queensland) you'll need to apply for Automatic Mutual Recognition (AMR).
What you need
- the PDF form – 'Registration of Equivalent Occupation'
- your current interstate commercial agent licence
- 2 proof of identity documents – one must include your photo and both must be the original
- your payment.
How to apply
- Select the ‘Download PDF form’ button.
- Complete the form and take the required documents to a Service NSW Centre to submit your application.
