The vehicle registration calculator helps you estimate registration, renewal and transfer costs for a:

What you need
For registration costs, you'll need:
- body type
- make and model (for new vehicles)
- registration usage
- tare weight
- market value/purchase price (whichever is greater).
For renewal and transfer costs, you'll need:
- plate number
- VIN/chassis
- date of acquisition
- registration usage
- body type
- market value/purchase price (whichever is greater).
How to check
- Select the 'Check online' button.
- Follow the prompts to calculate costs.

- Stamp duty may be waived if you submit evidence that you were the previous registered owner.
- Additional fees may apply if the vehicle has special number plates.
- Special number plate fees may include a discount if eligible.
- Tare weight is the empty weight of your vehicle (also known as unladen weight).
