Introduction

Companies or partnerships that contract, sub-contract or advertise to do residential building or trade work, need to be licensed.

You'll receive a renewal notice for your company or partnership contractor licence several weeks before the expiry date.

You can renew online or visit a Service NSW Centre.

What you need

  • your licence number
  • your renewal number (as shown on your renewal notice), or your full personal details.
  • your fee payment.

How to renew

  1. Select the 'Renew online' button.
  2. Follow the prompts to renew your licence.

If you don't wish to renew online, visit a service centre with your renewal notice and payment.

More information

  • If you don't renew on time, you'll have to apply to restore your licence, which can be done at a service centre.
  • If your licence has expired more than 3 months, you'll need to apply for a new licence to be re-issued.
  • You cannot trade until your new licence is issued.
