Introduction

If you receive a pension, you may qualify for a rebate on your water bill from your water supplier. Rebates are applied to each bill.

If your local council is your water supplier, find out if you are eligible for pensioner council rates rebates.

Eligibility

You need to:

  • be the owner and occupier of a property, and
  • have one of the following:
    • Pensioner Concession Card from Services Australia or the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)
    • DVA Veteran Gold Card printed with one of the following:
      • TPI
      • EDA
      • War Widow or War Widower
    • letter from the DVA confirming you either:
      • receive a Disability Compensation Payment at the Intermediate rate, or
      • are Totally and Temporarily Incapacitated (TTI).

  • concession card or concession customer reference number.

Note: Before you complete the claim form, check your water bill as you may already be receiving the pension rebate.

How to claim

  1. Select the water supplier for your residential address:
  2. Check that you meet the eligibility criteria.
  3. Fill in and submit the form.

Note: If more than one pensioner owns and lives at the property, they need to complete a separate application form.
