Introduction
The Long Service Corporation (LSC) administers a portable long service scheme for building and construction workers in NSW. The scheme allows eligible workers in the industry to work for different employers, or as contractors, and qualify for a long service benefit.
If you employ workers on wages or salary to carry out building and construction work in NSW, you must:
- register as an employer
- lodge Start Notices and End Notices for employees commencing or finishing work with you
- submit an Employer Return annually
- keep books and records, such as time sheets.
The LSC portal lets you manage portable long service transactions and information online. You can:
- update your contact details
- add or remove workers
- complete annual service returns
- notify of intent to pay a worker's long service payment
- confirm worker service
- register as a new employer
- request support.
How to manage
- Select the 'Manage online' button.
- Log in to your LSC account, or register as an employer.
More information
The scheme is funded by a levy applied to all NSW building and construction projects of $250,000 or more (inc. GST). The current rate is 0.25% of the total cost of the work.
