If you have an issue with a motor vehicle dealer or repairer:

  • talk about your issue with the other party and share any relevant information, such as invoices, quotes and reports
  • provide suggestions to resolve your issue and be prepared to negotiate a settlement.

If you’re unable to resolve your issue:

NSW Fair Trading will:

  • assess your complaint and provide a free dispute resolution service
  • provide options for formal resolution, such as lodging a claim with the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (if necessary).
