If you assist a person to make a statutory declaration by providing language interpretation, you may need to complete a statutory declaration to confirm that you have interpreted what a Justice of the Peace says or reads to the declarant.
If you're an accredited interpreter, you should also declare that you:
- do not have a personal relationship with the declarant
- will receive no financial or other benefit from the matters to which the declarant’s statutory declaration relates, other than payment for professional interpretation.
