Find a Boatcode Agent

The Hull Identification Number (HIN) system, or Boatcode, is a unique numbering system for vessels that:

• deters theft
• helps in the vessel's recovery if it is stolen.

The HIN is attached to the hull on most boats. In newer boats it’s put there permanently during manufacture.

In older boats, a Boatcode Agent can help you get an HIN. 

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) has established a network of Boatcode Agents throughout NSW who can:

• provide a HIN Boatcode Certificate
• validate and affix the HIN to your boat, personal watercraft or other vessel.
