If you're an employer or run a business, you must comply with Work Health and Safety (WHS) laws for the health and safety of workers, contractors, volunteers and people who come in contact with your business.
You're responsible for providing:
- WHS training and information
- first aid
- personal protective equipment
- emergency plans
- a safe work environment.
You also need to:
- talk to workers about identifying potential hazards
- manage risks to health and safety for hazardous manual tasks and hazardous chemicals
- manage the risks of noise at work to prevent hearing loss, and
- record any workplace incidents in a register of injuries.
You can access SafeWork NSW online training seminars to learn more about WHS, returning to work and injury management.
SafeWork NSW provides safety advice and information specific to industries, including road freight transport, housing construction, farming, electrical and power.
