Introduction

If you think your property has been damaged by mine subsidence, you can lodge a claim for compensation through the Subsidence Advisory NSW online portal.

Some types of damage that can occur include:

  • cracks
  • strains, which can cause cracks in internal walls, brickwork to break apart, and pipes and paving to buckle
  • tilts, which can cause doors and windows to jam.

You will need to lodge a claim within 12 months of becoming aware that the damage was caused by subsidence.

For emergencies:

  • If you have a subsidence emergency at your property or you’ve found a subsidence hole, report it to the Subsidence Advisory NSW 24-hour hotline on 1800 248 083.
  • If there is an immediate threat to life or property, call Triple Zero (000).
