Check the application status for a Class 1 load-carrying vehicle access permit

Introduction

If you've applied online for an initial or renewal road access permit for a Class 1 load-carrying vehicle, you can check how your application is progressing via the NHVR Portal.

What you need

• your permit number or application number, whichever is applicable
• your registered operator details
• your vehicle details.

How to check

1. Select the 'NHVR Portal' button.
2. Log in or create an account.
3. Follow the prompts to check your application status.

More information

• Once permits have been processed they're returned to you by email so you can print them at your convenience. You're also emailed if there are any changes to the permit's status.
• For travel on local roads you'll also need to have approval from the relevant local council/s.
