Introduction

If you need to change your contact details (address, email, mobile or telephone number) on a security operative licence, you can do so online.

If you need to change your name or other personal details, you'll need to complete a form and mail it to the Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (SLED).

If you want to vary a licence, refer to add or remove a security operative subclass.

What you need

To change your contact details, you'll need:

  • a MyServiceNSW Account
    • you can create one when you start your application
    • you may need details from 2 identity documents (such as Australian driver licence, Medicare card, passport)
  • your licence details
  • your previous and current contact details.

To change your name or other personal details, you'll need:

  • the PDF form – 'Application to Amend, Vary or Replace an Existing Class 1 and/or Class 2 licence'
  • a certified copy of one of the following change of name documents:
    • marriage certificate(s) issued by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages or, if married elsewhere, the marriage certificate issued by the celebrant or church
    • change of name certificate issued by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages
    • full birth certificate showing your name at birth and your new name (extracts and Commemorative certificates are not acceptable)
    • divorce decree
    • deed poll registered with the relevant authority
    • instrument evidencing that the change of name has been registered with NSW Land Registry Services

•    your payment (if applicable). 

How to change

To change your contact details:

  1. Select the 'Change online' button.
  2. Log in, or create your MyServiceNSW Account.
  3. Follow the prompts to change your contact details.

To change your name or other personal details:

  1. Download and complete the form Application to Amend, Vary or Replace an Existing Class 1 and/or Class 2 licence – PDF'.
  2. Send the form and your documents (if applicable) by post to the address on the form.

Privacy

To change a security operative licence with the Security Licensing & Enforcement Directorate (NSW Police Force), you'll need to create or log in with a MyServiceNSW Account.

By logging in you consent to sharing your name and email address in your MyServiceNSW Account with the NSW Police Force.

  • Change of name documents must be certified by a:
    • Justice of the Peace
    • Legal Practitioner, or
    • Notary Public.
