Apply to access a Transport for NSW bike shed

Introduction

If you ride your push bike to a public transport hub/interchange, and then catch the train, bus or ferry, you can protect your bike from bad weather by parking it in a Transport for NSW (TfNSW) bike shed. The sheds accommodate between 20 and 50 bikes, and are free to use on a first in first served basis.

You can apply for access to a bike shed, online.

Eligibility

Any Opal card holders who ride a push bike.

What you need

• your name and contact details
• a user name and suitable password
• an Opal card.

How to apply

1. Select the 'Apply online' button.
2. Complete the User registration form, or select the 'Login' tab if you already have an account.
3. Link your Opal card and agree to the bike shed Terms and Conditions.
4. Allow one business day for your shed access to be activated.

More information

• Once your Opal card is linked, you'll have access to any TfNSW bike shed, at any time.
• You'll also need your Opal card to exit the bike shed, as electronic readers are installed in all the sheds to reduce unauthorised access and tail-gating.
• Secure your bike to the racks provided, with your own bike lock.
• Bikes and equipment will be considered abandoned if they're reported as not being used for 2 consecutive months. The property will then be held in Lost Property for a further 2 months and if not claimed in that period, disposed of permanently.
• TfNSW is not liable for any loss, damage or theft of a bike (or bike equipment) stored in a bike shed.
