Introduction

An individual property licence lets you work as an agent in one or more of the following areas:

  • real estate
  • strata management
  • stock and station.

If eligible, you can:

  • apply for a new class 2 licence
  • upgrade your current class 2 licence to a class 1 licence
  • reapply for an expired licence
  • add an auctioneer accreditation to your licence.

Eligibility

You must:

  • be aged 18 or over
  • be a fit and proper person to hold a licence
  • not be a ‘disqualified person’ under the Property and Stock Agents Act 2002 or another Act administered by the NSW Minister for Fair Trading.
  • meet the qualification and training requirements for the type of licence:
  • prove that the registered office is in NSW. Alternatively, the registered office can be within 50km of the NSW border, but only if you hold a current licence or authority from that jurisdiction (see section 28 of the Property and Stock Agents Act 2002).
