Introduction
All visitors to the State Library of NSW can use the computers, read the newspapers and magazines, and get general help from staff.
You'll need to apply for a State Library card to:
- borrow and request books and other material
- access e-books and e-resources
- print, scan and photocopy
- book a study room.
You can apply for this free card online.
Eligibility
Anyone can apply for a library card.
Note: If you're not a NSW resident, you can only access online resources and collection items from within the State Library.
What you need
- your personal and contact details
- your date of birth.
How to apply
- Select the 'Apply online' button.
- Follow the prompts to apply for your library card.
You'll receive your library card number via email (next business day). You can choose to have your card sent by post or you can collect it at the State Library.
Note: If you're not a NSW resident, you'll need to pick up your card from the State Library.
