The Witness Assistance Service (WAS) supports victims and witnesses involved in criminal cases in NSW.
WAS can help with:
- preparing to give evidence in court
- court updates and debriefs
- victim impact statements
- information on victims’ rights and services.
Priority is given to:
- people aged under 18
- victims of sexual assault and serious domestic and family violence
- family members of victims who have died in driving or homicide cases
- people vulnerable through disability, age, or mental health.
